Success Stories

RYAN

Ryan joined Devondale as an apprentice in 2011 after enquiring at the Exeter branch about vacancies. After learning about every area of the business from stacking shelves to counter sales. In 2016 at the age of 25, Ryan was promoted to Branch Manager of Devondale’s new branch in Paignton.

SAM

Sam started working with Devondale in 2011. He worked his way up from counter assistant to assistant manager at the Barnstaple branch, became branch manager at the Bideford branch and was promoted to regional manager in 2018.

JACK

Apprentice Jack Shortridge won an EDA Learning Achievement Award in 2016 after being chosen from 700 apprentices from across the UK. Jack is now Assistant Manager at the Barnstaple branch.

LEVI

Apprentice Levi Craze won an EDA Learning Achievement Award as part of National Apprenticeship Week celebrations 2018. Levi now works full-time for our Bideford branch and is mentoring new apprentice Joe.

Apprenticeships

We are committed to supporting apprenticeships in business and aim to have at least one apprentice in every branch.

Apprentices are taken on through the Electrical Distributors Association’s Education & Training Programme EDA Apprenticeships Plus, an Apprenticeship Training Agency.
